چکیده

Scaffolds play a key role in tissue engineering and can be produced in many different ways depending on the applications and the materials used. Most researchers used an experimental trialanderror approach into new biomaterials but computer simulation applied to tissue engineering can offer a more exhaustive approach to test and screen out biomaterials. This paper develops the model of scaffolds and Computational Fluid Dynamics that show the value of computer simulations in determining the influence of the geometrical scaffold parameter porosity, pore size and shape on the permeability of scaffolds, magnitude of velocity, drop pressure, shear stress distribution and level and the proper design of the geometry of the scaffold. This creates a need for more advanced studies that include aspects of dynamic conditions of a micro fluid passing through the scaffold were characterized for tissue engineering applications and differentiation of tissues within scaffolds. Keywords—Scaffold engineering, Tissue engineering, Cellular structure, Biomaterial, Computational fluid dynamics.

Poly (lactic-co-glycolic)/nanostructured merwinite porous composites for bone tissue engineering: II. structural and in vitro characterization

Several characteristics of a novel PLGA/Merwinite scaffold were examined in the present study to evaluate the possible applications in bone tissue regeneration. Physical and mechanical properties, as well as degradation behavior and in vitro bioactivity of porous scaffolds produced by solvent casting and particle leaching technique were also characterized. Results showed that incorporation of m...

Quantum current modeling in nano-transistors with a quantum dot

Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) serve as a new class of ‘zero dimensional’ nanomaterial’s in thecarbon class with sizes below 10 nm. As light emitting nanocrystals, QDs are assembled from semiconductormaterials, from the elements in the periodic groups of II-VI, III-V or IV-VI, mainly thanks to impacts of quantum confinement QDs have unique optical properties such as brighter, highly pho...

Fabrication and characterization of the Ti-6Al-4V/Mg scaffold

Ti–6Al–4V scaffolds were fabricated by powder metallurgical space holder technique in this research. The most added magnesium (Mg) powder was evaporated and a skeleton of Ti-6Al-4V alloy was produced. For this purpose Ti-6Al-4V and Mg powders mixture compacted in a steel die by applying uniaxial pressure of 500 MPa before sintering the green product in a sealed quartz tubes at 900 °C for 2 hour...
